MMR V TBB 07.05.12
7am on a Sunday morning and I’m up and doing a last minute kit check- a necessity for me- I never want to forget a knee pad again! It’s time for a road trip to Cardiff, and what’s 5 hours when there’s a bout guaranteed at the other end.
So off we headed, Milk Rollers on tour to face off against the Tiger Bay Brawlers.
We knew it would be out toughest bout to date, and the Brawlers did not dissapoint.
Jam 1 set the pace, with both jammers Billie Pistol (TBB) and Rocky Ell Boa (MMR) held in scrum starts for the first minute, before Billie was able to break free and scoop lead. MMR jammer Rocky was then subject to some awesome reversing led by Brawlers Captain Kid Block, forcing a track cut and a ticket to the sin bin. This allowed a powerjam for Bille and the first 9 points awarded to TBB on the board.
From this point the jams were action packed, fast paced and both teams gave a great display of skills and tactics.
Tiger Bay won the day with a well derserved 204 to 102, but I suspect MMR won the afterparty, at least that’s what our hangovers suggested!
We had an amazing time in Cardiff and can’t wait to play such a hospitable and awesome team again.
